Dear Family and Friends,
There are no words to describe this week. It has been absolutely amazing. The Spirit is so strong here at the MTC, and we are learning so much. I did not think that it was possible to be so exhausted when all you do all day is learn. We learn so much, and are constantly being uplifted. I can’t wait until we finally get out into the field.
Our investigators here in the MTC, are so great. Our first investigator is Wade, who is taking the discussions so he can find God again in his life. Just yesterday, we committed him to baptism. He really wants to know more about God, and wants to be a better man. Our second investigator is Olivia, who is taking the discussions here with her husband. She is a BYU student who just really wants to know more about all the Mormons that she lives around. She was raised atheist, but when she was 18, she decided that she wanted to know God, so she started to work on that relationship. She is so sweet, and the Spirit is so strong when we are teaching her.
On Tuesday, Sister Lisonbee (my companion) woke up, and was really congested. She has been fighting a bad cold, but it got worse. So we went to the clinic here at the MTC, and then were sent down to the Student Health Center on campus, so she could get a chest x-ray. The doctor said she could be getting a possible infection, and if she doesn’t rest more, and take naps, then it won’t go away for a while. So, we are very glad today is P-Day, so we won’t be missing class, if she needs to sleep.
My district is so wonderful. We have great discussions, but we are working on not getting too distracted. Having an iPad is very hard for some of the elders and sisters. There are only four sisters in the entire zone, and we all came in on the same day. There were no other sisters, for a week or so before we got there. We found out yesterday, that there are no new missionaries coming into our zone, so by November 10th, all the missionaries in our branch will be gone. It is super sad, because Sister Lisonbee and I are the Zone Sister Training Leaders, and there won’t be any more new sisters to train. On the other hand, it is nice because we are already so united and such great friends with everyone else, it is nice to just be us.
On Sunday, we watched the Character of Christ talk by Elder Bednar. What a life changing experience?! It was life changing. On Tuesday, Elder Maynes, from the presidency of the Seventy came and talked to us. He talked about how our attitude as missionaries is the real key to our success. It was good to hear, because our district was getting a little upset when any of our investigators proved to be too difficult.
The Church is TRUE!! I am so thrilled to be part of the Lord’s work. I did not know that my testimony could grow so much in just a week. I know that God loves each and every one of us, and He will answer all of our prayers. It truly is a marvelous work we are taking part of.
I love you all so much!
